Pambansang Bae David Licauco denied on April 17, Monday, rumors claiming that the ‘Sparkle Goes to Canada’ tour he was part of flopped.

During a quick interview after the media conference for his upcoming movie “G! LU” at KAO Manila in Newport World Resorts, Licauco expressed shock upon hearing about the alleged failure of the international tour.
“Weh?!” the actor reacted.
The tour, which featured Licauco along with his on-screen partner Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Bianca Umali, and Ruru Madrid, marked the first-ever back-to-back show of GMA Network in Canada.
Photos of the venue appeared to show few crowds, sparking claims that the show flopped. However, Licauco refuted these rumors, stating that there were indeed many attendees, and they enjoyed the event.
“Maraming tao. Tsaka masaya naman sila,” he said.
Regarding the performance in Calgary, Licauco clarified that it was a matter of unfortunate timing. On the day of their show, there was heavy snowfall, leading to fewer attendees compared to the first leg of the event.
“I think baka sa Calgary kasi, at that time, snowing kasi. So siyempre ‘yung mga kababayan natin doon, nahirapan sila to go there to watch us, which is very understandable,” explained the actor.
Despite the challenges in Calgary, the tour was a success, especially in Toronto.
“’Yung sa Calgary lang talaga, nahirapan talaga sila. Sa Toronto, punung-puno.”
Meanwhile, Licauco’s upcoming film “G! LU” is set to hit theaters on April 24.
