The Dabarkads worldwide are in for a treat on July 1, 2023, as the iconic noontime show featuring Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon will mark its return to television with a grand celebration.
Last year, on May 31, 2023, the Dabarkads hosts bid farewell to TAPE, Inc., leading to a reshuffle in ‘Eat Bulaga’ hosts on GMA Network. Consequently, throughout June 2022, Tito, Vic, Joey, along with Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Carren Eistrup, and Allan K., were absent from TV screens.
However, on July 1, 2023, the entire Dabarkads team made a triumphant return with the premiere of ‘E.A.T.’ on TV5, allowing fans to once again enjoy their favorite hosts and the iconic ‘Eat Bulaga’ theme song.
Before this return, TVJ and TAPE, Inc. were involved in a legal battle, which ended with Tito, Vic, and Joey successfully reclaiming the ‘Eat Bulaga’ title.
Now, the Dabarkads noontime show is gearing up to celebrate its first anniversary on TV5 this coming Monday, July 1. The hosts have been actively promoting the event, teasing fans with promises of special surprises and prizes.
The past year has seen significant changes in Filipino lunchtime viewing habits due to TVJ’s move to TV5, which led to a major reshuffle among favorite noontime TV shows. ‘It’s Showtime,’ another popular noontime show, moved from TV5 to GTV and is now also airing on GMA Network’s main channel.
