Filipino artists and films shone brightly at the recently concluded Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) 2025 in Los Angeles, California, with Morissette Amon, Seth Fedelin, and the MQuest Ventures film ‘Song of the Fireflies’ taking home top honors.

Singer Morissette Amon made an impressive transition to acting, winning the Audience Choice Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Song of the Fireflies’.
The film, inspired by the true story of a children’s choir from Bohol, was the biggest winner of the night, securing Best Picture and two additional acting awards: Rachel Alejandro (Best Supporting Actress) and Noel Comia Jr. (Best Supporting Actor).
Young actor Seth Fedelin claimed the Audience Choice for Best Actor for his performance in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘My Future You’.
This adds to his recent Breakthrough Performance Award at the 50th MMFF, where his performance alongside Francine Diaz in the same film was widely praised.
The Kathryn Bernardo-Alden Richards sequel ‘Hello, Love, Again’ received a special recognition at MIFF 2025, earning the Box Office Hit Award after grossing ₱1.6 billion worldwide since its release in November 2024.
GMA Pictures President Annette Gozon-Valdes and ABS-CBN Films Head Kriz Gazmen, together with actor Mark Labella, accepted the award. Both executives highlighted the historic collaboration between GMA Network and ABS-CBN, emphasizing that their joint efforts led to one of the highest-grossing Filipino films of all time.
The success of ‘Song of the Fireflies’, ‘My Future You’, and ‘Hello, Love, Again’ at MIFF 2025 reaffirms the growing global recognition of Filipino films.
