Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino’s romantic comedy ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ has officially crossed the PHP100 million mark at the Philippine box office, according to Star Cinema’s announcement on Monday, March 31.
The film, which opened in local cinemas on March 26, raked in ₱12 million on its first day — the highest opening-day gross for any local film so far in 2025. By the end of its first weekend (March 31), it had already earned over ₱100 million from domestic screenings alone.
Its international run is also off to a strong start, with ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ grossing $200,000 in North America on its opening day. The film began its overseas screenings on March 27 in countries including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and the UAE. It also opened in Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Guam, Saipan, and Brunei on March 28, followed by select European countries on March 29. Upcoming screenings are scheduled for Austria on April 5 and Cambodia on April 18.
The movie premiered in over 380 cinemas in the Philippines and is currently showing in more than 745 theaters worldwide. Star Cinema also confirmed that more than 224 block screenings have been organized across the Philippines, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
Directed by Chad Vidanes, the film centers on Sari (Kim Chiu), a woman who believes she is cursed—every man she falls in love with disappears. Enter Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a heartbroken man who sees Sari’s curse as an opportunity to escape his past by making her fall in love with him.
‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’ marks the first film pairing of Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino following their successful collaborations in ‘Linlang’ and ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?’
The movie also features an ensemble cast that includes Melai Cantiveros, Wilma Doesnt, Lovely Abella, Benj Manalo, Nico Antonio, Migs Almendras, Martin Escudero, Karina Bautista, Jeremiah Lisbo, Atasha Franco, Kelsey Lasam, and Lucas Andalio.
The film continues to draw crowds globally and is currently screening in theaters across the Philippines and abroad.
