Mothers are often seen as warm, gentle, and loving toward their children. But for some with hearts hardened by pain, love can feel distant and cold. This Saturday (May 10), “Magpakailanman” presents a Mother’s Day special that tells the atypical story of a mother’s tough love.
Titled “Ang Inang Walang Puso,” the episode stars Shamaine Buencamino, together with Ina Feleo, Vaness del Moral, Mikoy Morales, Aya Domingo, Althea Ablan, and Nonie Buencamino.
This episode explores the story of Gloria, who grew up in an abusive home where she was locked in a dark storage room and received no affection from her parents.
Years later, when she became a mother herself, she raised her children in the only way she knew—with harsh discipline and controlling rules. Her husband is the only one who somehow softened her heart, so when he suddenly dies, Gloria becomes even stricter and more explosive.
Gloria’s children begin to drift away as they are wounded by the very person who works hard to feed them, but never learned how to love them gently.
Is there still a chance to forgive a mother who has deeply hurt her children emotionally? When a mother starts to lose her memory, will she then deserve love and reconciliation?
“Ang Inang Walang Puso” is under the helm of Neal Del Rosario, written by Loi Argel Nova, and researched by Karl Angelo Butuan.
This is a Mother’s Day story like no other. Witness how hard love and a heavy heart turn into something meaningful and inspiring. Catch “Magpakailanman” every Saturday at 8:15 p.m. on GMA-7. For more stories about the Kapuso Network, visit www.GMANetwork.com.
