One of the most exciting bands to launch in the last year, House of Protection releases their sophomore EP, ‘Outrun You All’, today on Red Bull Records. 
Arriving with three new tracks including “Godspeed”, the project is an ode to the early influences and styles the duo first came to love as musicians. Seamlessly blending relentless hardcore, atmospheric trip-hop, underground electronic, and art punk, House of Protection have proven they can shapeshift and excel in every niche corner.
‘Outrun You All’ doesn’t miss a beat between its twists and turns, beginning with a crackling needle drop into a mid-century dreamlike sequence on the intro, “524å§ł€€|°”. Straight-away the vibe shifts and the whiplash of industrial sounds follow on “Afterlife”. Next, the driving punk energy of “Godspeed” comes in, with an ear-worm chorus reminiscent of early aughts indie.
“”Godspeed” is the song we’re most excited to add to the live set. It came together the fastest during the writing process for the new EP, and we feel like it has a relentlessness we’re always striving for. The chorus also has a touch of hyper-pop to it, which is something new for us,” as expressed by House of Protection.
The band’s versatility really shines on “I Need More Than This”, an anthemic yet ethereal track that oscillates between the heavy and chill spectrum. Not wasting a second to slow down, “Fire” jolts in with its thrashing guitars and high-pitched sirens, in contrast to “Phasing Out”, the EP’s most electronic-influenced, breaks-heavy track. Bringing the project to a close, “Slide Away” bleeds nostalgic rock to its core, pulling the thread through all six songs.
The release of ‘Outrun You All’ marks a year of explosive growth for the band since their inception. Following a support run in Australia with Bad Omens and a feature on Architects’ single “Brain Dead”, the band wrapped an 11-city sprint across the US supporting Poppy on her ‘They’re All Around Us Tour’. Each night they earned new fans with their inclusive stage presence and exhilarating performances, serving a dose of chaos on every stage.
