Not all friendships look the same. Some are loud and chaotic, others are quiet and steady. But whether it’s a lifelong barkada, an unlikely duo, or a group just trying to figure life out together, there’s something about stories of friendship that just hit different.

To celebrate Friendship Day, here are five titles that highlight all the fun, awkward, and feel-good moments that come with having people you can count on. From classic sisterhood to late-night oversharing and unexpected partnerships, these titles now streaming on Lionsgate Play are perfect for your next chill hangout with your besties.

Little Women (2017)

Little Women is a three-part BBC miniseries based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, following the lives of the four March sisters – Meg (Willa Fitzgerald), Jo (Maya Hawke), Beth (Annes Elwy), and Amy (Kathryn Newton) – as they grow up in Civil War-era Massachusetts. Raised by their strong-willed mother while their father serves as a Union army chaplain, the girls navigate love, loss, ambition, and womanhood in a world shaped by societal expectations. Each sister takes a different path, but together, they learn the meaning of family, resilience, and staying true to themselves.

Sherlock (2010-2017)

The BBC’s Sherlock reinvents Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic detective stories, bringing Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and his loyal companion Dr. John Watson (Martin Freeman) into 21st-century London. Sherlock uses his razor-sharp intellect and unorthodox methods to unravel cases that baffle even Scotland Yard. Across four thrilling seasons, Sherlock and Watson confront iconic characters including the brilliant and manipulative Jim Moriarty (Andrew Scott), Sherlock’s enigmatic older brother Mycroft (Mark Gatiss), and the cunning Irene Adler (Lara Pulver).

Everything I Know About Love (2022)

This seven-episode British drama series is based on Dolly Alderton’s bestselling memoir, following four childhood friends as they navigate their twenties in London. At the heart of the story are Maggie (Emma Appleton) and Birdy (Bel Powley), whose once-unbreakable bond is tested by messy relationships, career struggles, heartbreak, and the challenges of growing up. Set against a backdrop of chaotic nights out and quiet moments of self-discovery, the series explores the highs and lows of female friendship, independence, and learning what love really means.

Dirty 30 (2016)

What happens when three best friends decide to throw one last wild party before turning thirty? Dirty 30 is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy about Evie (Grace Helbig), Kate (Mamrie Hart), and Charlie (Hannah Hart) – lifelong pals who reunite for a birthday bash that quickly spirals out of control. As the night unfolds with unexpected twists, the trio is forced to confront the messiness of adulthood, lingering regrets, and their evolving friendship. At its core, the film is a fun, feel-good celebration of growing older without growing apart.

Feed the Beast (2016)

Those in the mood for a gritty drama with a side of food and friendship will find it in Feed the Beast, a 10-episode series that follows Tommy (David Schwimmer), a grieving wine expert, and Dion (Jim Sturgess), a troubled chef, as they chase their dream of opening a high-end Greek restaurant in the Bronx. As the pressure mounts in the kitchen, so do the threats outside it – from mob ties to personal demons – testing their loyalty and pushing their partnership to the edge. It’s a story about second chances, served with tension, ambition, and heart.

Wherever you are, a good connection is all you need to bond and binge-watch with friends on Lionsgate Play via PLDT Home, Smart and Cignal.
