Five years ago—just two months before the world shut down—Dr. Madeleine Rose Montinola opened the doors to Montinola Aesthetic Laser Center.

It was a bold move: launching a business in the shadow of an impending pandemic. But for Dr. Montinola, it was a necessary leap. After years of practicing in other clinics, she felt constrained by limited equipment and strict protocols that prevented her from fully realizing her vision for patient care. “Hindi ko magawa ang continuity of care para sa mga patients ko, and hindi ko ma-maximize yung gusto kong gawin,” she explains. So, she built her own space—one that would reflect her philosophy: a fusion of science, technology, and artistry.
Dr. Montinola didn’t always envision a career in aesthetics. Her original dream was to become a cardiac surgeon. But her path eventually led her to cosmetic surgery, where she discovered a unique intersection between her medical training and artistic sensibilities. “Vain ako,” she admits candidly. “I really love art. Doon lumabas yung love ko for artistry—fixing the human form.”
For her, beauty isn’t about rigid textbook standards. It’s about understanding the nuances of each individual’s anatomy and blending that knowledge with an intuitive sense of aesthetics. “Kailangan mong ma-mix yung art and the science behind it,” she says. “I think that’s my edge.”
Despite the pandemic’s disruption, the clinic experienced a surprising boom six months in. With people spending more time on video calls, facial features suddenly became front and center. Flaws that once went unnoticed were now magnified on screens, and demand for aesthetic treatments surged. Montinola Aesthetic Laser Center quickly became a go-to destination for both subtle enhancements and transformative procedures.
Among the most popular treatments are rhinoplasty and buccal fat removal. “Mga pango talaga mga Pilipino, naturally,” Dr. Montinola observes, noting how the desire for contoured, V-shaped faces has been influenced by Korean beauty trends and local celebrities. Double-eyelid surgery is also in demand, alongside body procedures like liposuction and breast enhancement. “It’s always liposuction and breast, always,” she says.
Her specialization in 360-degree liposuction is backed by training both locally and in Colombia, where advanced operator-based machines help achieve optimal results.
But Montinola Aesthetic isn’t just about cutting-edge technology—it’s also about accessibility. “Everything here in the clinic is premium service,” she says, “but not to the extent na we overcharge.”
She is passionate about making aesthetic care available to the average working class. “Self-care isn’t only for those with money. Deserve din ng working class ’yan.”
Now entering its sixth year, the clinic continues to evolve, welcoming a diverse clientele—including a growing number of male patients. “They are straight men,” she points out, pleased that aesthetic care is no longer taboo for men.
Her advocacy for self-love is especially strong when it comes to mothers. “Alam naman natin ang mga mommies, andami na nilang pinagdaanang stress… sila talaga ’yung pinaka-deserve ng mommy makeover.”
For Dr. Montinola, the most rewarding part of her work isn’t just the physical transformation—it’s the emotional impact. “Yung psychological effect sa kanila, ’yun talaga pinaka-fulfilment ko,” she shares.
She recalls moments when patients, despite the cost, choose to invest in themselves because of the joy and confidence they gain. “They get that good feeling of themselves na ang ganda-ganda nila.”
Montinola Aesthetic Laser Center stands as a testament to the power of blending science with art, and compassion with expertise. It’s not just a clinic—it’s a space where people rediscover confidence, embrace beauty, and celebrate themselves.

Whether you’re seeking a subtle enhancement or a transformative makeover, Montinola Aesthetic Laser Center offers personalized care rooted in artistry and advanced medical practice. Because beauty, as Dr. Montinola believes, is for everyone—and everyone deserves to feel beautiful.
