Its exterior reflects GAC’s “Star Diamond” design philosophy, combining rugged strength with refined elegance. A bold, square-edged silhouette gives the GS8 HEV a commanding road presence, highlighted by the “Victory” chrome grille and “Eye of the Conqueror” LED headlamps with a distinctive lighting sequence. It rides on 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels that reinforce its athletic stance, while “Ruby Diamond” taillights provide a recognizable, multi-dimensional light signature even at night.
Inside, the GS8 HEV offers a spacious and thoughtfully designed cabin with a 2-3-2 seating configuration finished in premium leather with diamond stitching. The front seats are power-adjustable with memory and ventilation functions for added comfort, while the second row provides generous legroom and flexibility. The third row features power-folding capability, allowing for an easy shift between passenger seating and expanded cargo space. A panoramic sunroof completes the experience, bringing in natural light and enhancing the sense of space.

The GS8 HEV is powered by GAC’s 2.0T Mega Wave Powertrain paired with the 4th Generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS II), delivering a maximum output of 140 kW and 320 Nm of torque.
Equipped with an intelligent E-Four 4WD system, the GS8 HEV offers multiple driving modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Off-road), allowing it to conquer diverse road conditions with ease. The E-CVT transmission provides a silent and seamless transition between electric and gasoline power, delivering a refined driving experience that sets a new benchmark for hybrid SUVs.
Advanced Technology, Connectivity, and Safety
The GS8 HEV integrates advanced technology with everyday convenience through a 14.6-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system paired with a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster. It supports seamless smartphone integration and features a premium 10-speaker Alpine sound system for a rich, immersive audio experience.
Comfort is further enhanced by a three-zone climate control system with an air quality management sensor, helping maintain a clean and comfortable cabin for all occupants. A wireless mobile phone charger and multiple USB ports add to its practicality for daily use.
Safety is equally prioritized, with the GS8 HEV equipped with GAC’s latest suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and a 540-degree HD holographic surround view camera system with transparent chassis view.
Together with a high-strength steel chassis and a comprehensive 7-airbag system, including a driver’s knee airbag, these features provide well-rounded protection and confidence on the road.

MIAS attendees were also treated to a preview of the family-friendly hybrid GAC E8 HEV, a sophisticated seven-seater mid-size MPV engineered for family-focused versatility and long-range efficiency.
The E8 HEV features a powerful hybrid system that delivers a remarkable combined range of up to 1,200 km. The interior prioritizes high-end comfort with a 14.6-inch multifunctional touchscreen and second-row seats equipped with ventilation and massage functions. Designed to adapt to various lifestyle needs, the E8 offers a massive maximum trunk capacity of 1,917L alongside advanced safety features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Integrated Cruise Assist.

Also showcased at the GAC booth at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show are the GN8 PHEV, the 2026 EMZOOM, the AION V, and the HYPTEC HT.
The GN8 PHEV is a premier seven-seater luxury MPV that blends opulent executive travel with advanced environmental responsibility. Its commanding 5.2-meter presence is defined by a “lion’s mane” front grille, while the interior offers a first-class sanctuary featuring second-row captain’s chairs with heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The cabin is further refined by a PM2.5 air quality system with an integrated fragrance system and a premium Yamaha sound system, ensuring a pristine and immersive environment for all passengers.
Under the hood, the GN8 utilizes a 2.0L plug-in hybrid powertrain delivering over 240 hp and a remarkable combined range of up to 1,038 km. It provides 106 km of pure electric driving for silent city commuting and supports fast charging to reach 80% in approximately 45 minutes. Equipped with Level 2 ADAS and a 12.3-inch digital cluster, this MPV sets a new benchmark for sustainable luxury, seamlessly combining high-performance hybrid technology with top-tier executive amenities.
The fan-favorite 2026 EMZOOM returns to MIAS with its bold look, highlighting its sporty DNA. This subcompact crossover pairs a high-performance design with a refreshed fascia and a tech-filled five-seater cabin, featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android mirroring. Built for urban driving, it comes with a surround-view camera, rear parking sensors, and driver assist features such as Adaptive Cruise Control. Despite its size, it remains highly practical with up to 1,271L of cargo space.
Further reinforcing GAC’s growing battery electric vehicle lineup are the HYPTEC HT and AION V, each catering to distinct mobility needs.
The HYPTEC HT stands as a flagship five-seater luxury electric SUV, defined by its dual-stage electric gullwing doors and refined, tech-forward cabin. It offers Nappa leather interiors, reclining rear seats, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen, delivering both comfort and innovation. With up to 600+ km of range and ultra-fast charging from 10% to 70% in just 15 minutes, it combines performance with convenience, supported by advanced safety systems and up to 1,802L of cargo space.
Complementing this is the AION V, a versatile mid-size electric SUV designed for everyday use. Powered by GAC’s Magazine Battery 2.0, it delivers up to 600+ km of range with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. The cabin features a 14.6-inch display, intuitive voice control, and a suspension tuned for local road conditions. Fast-charging capability from 30% to 80% in around 20 minutes, along with integrated driver assistance features, makes it a practical choice for urban mobility.
