From April 17 to 26, 2026, at Gateway Mall 2 Cineplex 18 in Quezon City, the TWS VR Concert “RUSH ROAD” delivered an immersive virtual reality experience featuring K-pop group TWS, where fans were guided through a structured entry process involving wristband distribution, photocard giveaways, and VR headset setup before being placed into a fully simulated concert environment designed to replicate an up-close performance with the group.

The experience began in a familiar cinema setting that quickly shifted into something entirely different upon entry into the theater. Attendees were given wristbands and two photocards, adding a collectible layer to the event before the actual immersion began. Staff members assisted each participant in wearing VR goggles, marking the transition from physical space into a fully virtual concert world that immediately replaced the theater surroundings.

Once the VR headsets were activated, the environment transformed into a 360-degree performance stage, placing TWS within arm’s reach in a digitally constructed concert setting. The most immediate reaction was the sense of proximity created by the technology—performers appeared strikingly close, as if performing directly in front of each viewer rather than on a distant stage. The experience simulated a personalized front-row perspective, where choreography, movement, and expressions felt directed individually.

The immersive setup challenged traditional expectations of what a concert experience feels like. Instead of viewing from a seat in a large venue, the VR format created the illusion of shared space with the performers. The visual design and staging enhanced the sensation of presence, making it feel as though the audience were moving alongside the group through each performance segment.

A notable shift occurred during the experience as initial skepticism toward VR concerts gave way to full engagement. What may have first seemed like a novelty inside a cinema evolved into a highly interactive and emotionally engaging performance environment. The combination of sound, motion tracking, and 360-degree visuals created a sense of closeness that reshaped how the performance was experienced.

As the concert progressed, the energy of TWS’s performance became more pronounced through the immersive format. Their stage presence, choreography, and expressive delivery translated effectively into the VR space, creating a heightened sense of connection between artist and viewer. The experience emphasized not just observation, but participation within the performance field itself.

By the end of the session, the VR concert had redefined expectations of fan engagement, demonstrating how virtual reality can extend beyond novelty into a meaningful entertainment medium. The experience at Gateway Mall 2 Cineplex 18 highlighted a growing shift in how live performances can be reimagined, offering audiences a new way to connect with artists beyond physical limitations.
TWS “RUSH ROAD” VR Concert ultimately positioned itself as more than a screening or simulation but as an immersive fan journey—one that blurred the boundary between audience and performer and reimagined what closeness in music experiences can feel like. (with reports from Aldrine Benitez)
