The popular new Korean romantic comedy Perfect Crown has once again broken streaming records by becoming the most viewed Korean title premiere of all time on Disney+ globally and outside of APAC*.
Since its debut on April 10, Perfect Crown has gone on to enjoy enormous success in markets around the world, also becoming the number one most viewed Korean title premiere in the USA and Canada, EMEA (including Germany, Spain, UK and Italy) and LATAM (including Argentina, Brazil and Mexico), as well as in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. The series has reached 43M hours streamed globally and achieved week‑over‑week growth, with episode 8 driving a 43% increase in views from the premiere (based on 7 days of views).
Perfect Crown follows the people’s favorite royal, Grand Prince I-AN, as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle with other members of the royal family. With pressure on the prince to wed, he strikes up a marriage of convenience with Huiju, the heir to a Korean conglomerate, but as the pair work together to advance their own ends, emotions begin to flare and things don’t go quite as smoothly as planned.
Perfect Crown stars IU (When Life Gives You Tangerines, My Mister) as Huiju, the second in line to inherit one of Korea’s biggest conglomerates, and Byeon Wooseok (Lovely Runner, Strong Girl Nam-soon) as Grand Prince I-AN. The series is directed by Park Joonhwa (Alchemy of Souls, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim) and is written by Yoo Jiwon.
The first ten episodes of the hit new series are now available to stream on Disney+ internationally and on Hulu in the United States, with the final two episodes set to debut on May 15 and 16 at 10:20PM (Philippine Time).
Perfect Crown is the latest Korean title set to debut on Disney+.
