After several years away from the Kapuso network, actress Ryza Cenon is officially returning to GMA Network through the upcoming GMA Prime series ‘Hari ng Tondo’.
The actress joined the project’s official story conference and script reading on May 20 alongside the show’s star-studded cast, signaling her highly anticipated Kapuso comeback.
On Instagram, Ryza shared her excitement through behind-the-scenes photos from the event.
“I’m back! #haringtondo,” she captioned her post.
During an interview with GMA News Online, Ryza admitted that she immediately accepted the offer to return to her former home network.
“Actually walang dalawang-isip. Nag-yes ako agad. Syempre, sabi nga nila, kahit saan ka magpunta, kanino ka pa rin ba babalik? Sa mother mo, sa mother network mo pa rin syempre,” she said.
The actress also expressed gratitude for the warm reception she received from the network executives and former colleagues she had previously worked with.
“And sobrang blessed ko na mainit ‘yung pagtanggap sa akin and hindi pa rin ako nakakalimutan nila Miss Camille [Hermoso, Senior Program Manager,] and Direk Enzo [Williams], kasi nakatrabaho ko na sila,” she shared.
Ryza revealed that she previously worked with Hermoso in the hit Kapuso drama ‘Ika-6 na Utos’. She also shared her excitement about finally working with Ruru Madrid for the first time.
The actress previously hinted at her openness to returning to GMA Network after guesting on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ in July 2025.
Before officially joining ‘Hari ng Tondo’, Ryza was also reportedly offered a guest appearance in ‘Sanggang Dikit FR’, starring Dennis Trillo and Jennylyn Mercado.
Directed by Enzo Williams, ‘Hari ng Tondo’ will also feature Ysabel Ortega, Arra San Agustin, Rocco Nacino, Gary Estrada, Victor Neri, Nonie Buencamino, Isko Moreno, and Heath Jornales.
Ryza first rose to fame after winning ‘StarStruck’ Season 2 in 2004 as the Ultimate Female Survivor.
In 2018, she transferred to rival network ABS-CBN after years of working with GMA Network.
‘Hari ng Tondo’ is set to air soon on GMA Prime.
