GMA Network’s fantasy saga, “Sang’gre” capped off its successful primetime run on a high note as it continued to dominate the ratings race until its finale episode.
Based on the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings reports, “Sang’gre” remained a formidable force in primetime television, particularly during its final week where it consistently topped the ratings board.

During its finale episode aired Friday, May 8, “Sang’gre” soared to the number one spot on the overall ratings chart after posting an impressive 11.5 percent rating. The Kapuso fantasy series comfortably defeated its competitors, “Blood vs Duty (BVD)’ which only managed 3.7 percent while TV5’s ‘A Secret in Prague’ settled at 0.8 percent.
The much-talked-about finale featured an explosive battle for the fate of Encantadia as Gargan unleashed the terrifying Black Gem, throwing the kingdom into chaos and near destruction. Terra, Deia, Flamarra, and Adamus joined forces with the original Sang’gres, Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya for one final stand against darkness.
Peace was eventually restored in Encantadia after the villains were defeated, although the ending hinted that the story may continue in the future. Deia returned to Mineave, Terra reportedly declined the throne, and new rulers began emerging across the kingdoms. Meanwhile, Gargan was teased to still be building a new army, with Aquil shockingly aligning himself with the villain, setting the stage for a possible sequel.
Meanwhile, prior to its finale, “Sang’gre” had already been dominating the ratings board throughout the week. The series nearly completed a clean sweep of the weekly rankings except on Monday, May 4, when it placed second with 10.7 percent, just slightly behind which registered 10.8 percent.
The fantasy drama quickly reclaimed the top spot on Tuesday, May 5, after climbing to 11.7 percent—7.8 points higher than “Blood vs Duty’s” 3.9 percent. Its winning streak continued on Wednesday, May 6, despite a slight dip to 10.8 percent, still comfortably ahead of BVD’s 4.0 percent.
On its penultimate episode aired Thursday, May 7, “Sang’gre” bounced back anew with 11.3 percent, marking a 0.5 percent increase from the previous day.
With consistently strong ratings and an ending that left viewers talking, “Sang’gre” once again proved the enduring popularity of the Encantadia franchise among Filipino audiences.
