Beauty queen Imelda Schweighart has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage while competing in the MGI All Stars 2026 pageant.

The emotional revelation came through an appreciation post dedicated to her partner, surfer Rafael Thibault, whom she credited for being her source of strength throughout the ordeal.
“I support your surfing. You support my pageantry. Both are a million dollar lifestyle therefore my adrenaline rush is quenched for a while. The beach is waiting. Can’t wait to marvel at sunsets watching you play,” Imelda wrote alongside photos of Rafael and their son, Noah.
She also expressed gratitude for her partner’s unwavering support.
“I love you, dummy! Thanks for everything and supporting me from start to finish,” she added.
In the same post, Imelda opened up about the heartbreaking loss they experienced while she was competing internationally.
“Even though I’m recovering from something big right now, I know we’ll get this through. Losing our baby might have been the worse out of joining this competition but in God’s timing we will have one again,” she shared.
While she did not initially elaborate on what happened, Schweighart later provided more details in the comment section of pageant coach Kervin Lao’s Instagram post.
“Dinahan-dahan ko po kasi baka himatayin ako. I saved my energy hanggang dulo. Nairaos pa rin. Kahit na dapat nagpahinga na ako,” she recalled.
She revealed that she experienced bleeding days before the finals and was advised to rest.
“Absent ako half day sa rehearsals nun dahil nag-bleeding ako. Ang sabi ng mga prod magpahinga na muna ako, pero panay sigaw sila sa akin kesyo unprofessional daw,” she said.
“Sinabi ko na galing akong ospital pero dinahilan ko na lang na vertigo ako baka kasi hindi nila ako patuluyin. Ang importante natapos ko,” she added.
In a separate social media post, Imelda clarified that she is now recovering.
“I’m fine, everyone. The worse parts are over,” she assured her followers.
She also addressed questions surrounding her participation in the pageant while pregnant, noting that pregnancy is not prohibited under the competition’s rules.
“Wala po sa rules na bawal ang buntis. If we are truly in an era where a transgender woman can place as 2nd runner-up in MGI All Stars, that means we shouldn’t just use the word ‘motherhood’ for clout. We need to actually accept its intricacies and its entire spectrum whether a mother is currently pregnant or not,” she stated.
Imelda further explained that she was unaware of her pregnancy at the time.
“I was obviously in my first trimester. Haven’t you seen my abs? Kidding. My pregnancy test even came back negative, so I honestly thought my dizziness was just from the flights and my hectic schedule,” she said.
The former Miss Philippines Earth ended her MGI All Stars journey without advancing to the Top 18. Among the five Filipinas who represented the country in the competition, only Gazini Ganados advanced to the Top 5.
The competition was eventually won by Vanessa Pulgarin of Colombia.
