Just weeks after revealing their intimate wedding, newlyweds Kai Sotto and Rere Madrid have shared another life-changing milestone — they are expecting their first child together.
The couple made the announcement through a heartfelt joint Instagram post, giving family, friends, and fans a glimpse into their journey toward parenthood.
“For a while, we’ve been living in our own little world. Holding onto a secret that made every day feel like an adventure. Every moment, every plan, every quiet smile. It was all for you. And now, we finally get to share it,” the couple wrote.
They then revealed the exciting news: “WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!! Our greatest adventure is just beginning, and you’re already the best part of it.”
The announcement video captured emotional reactions from both families as they learned about Rere’s pregnancy. One of the most touching moments featured Rere’s father, who became emotional as he spoke to Kai and asked him to promise that he would continue to love and take care of his daughter.
The video also documented several milestones from the couple’s pregnancy journey, including medical checkups, ultrasound appointments, and clips showing Rere’s growing baby bump. In one lighthearted scene, Kai playfully posed beside his wife while pretending to have a matching baby bump.
Actor Ruru Madrid, Rere’s older brother, also shared his message of support during the family reveal.
“Masaya ako. Kasi ako, to be honest, kung iisipin mo na magagalit ako sa’yo, no. Bakit? Anong point? Kung nasaan ka ngayon, may dahilan kung bakit diyan ka nilagay. At tandaan mo, na kakampi mo ako dito, kami,” Ruru said.
The actor later posted a public message congratulating the couple, writing, “Congratulations Bunso at Bayaw! Mahal ko kayo.”
Rere also acknowledged the support she received from actress Bianca Umali, Ruru’s longtime partner, who she said became one of her sources of strength throughout the experience.
