The GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) has mobilized its #OperationBayanihan initiative to provide immediate assistance to communities affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck General Santos City and nearby areas on June 8.

In response to the disaster, GMAKF quickly organized relief operations at the GMA Regional Station in General Santos City, where volunteers and staff repacked essential relief goods for distribution to affected families.
The foundation successfully delivered assistance to 300 families in Sitio Intake, Barangay Mabuhay, General Santos City, as well as 1,500 families in Glan, Sarangani Province. Many of the beneficiaries suffered significant damage to their homes and continue to face challenges in the aftermath of the earthquake.
GMAKF said its relief efforts will continue in the coming days as it reaches more communities impacted by the disaster across the region.
To further support ongoing operations, the foundation is appealing for donations from individuals and organizations willing to help affected families rebuild and recover. Donations may be made through GMAKF’s bank accounts, Cebuana Lhuillier branches, GCash and Palawan Pay QR codes, as well as online platforms such as Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit cards, Lazada, and Shopee.
