The Palawan Group of Companies recently held a Thanksgiving Party in honor of its scholars who successfully completed their academic journey this year. This batch produced 120 graduates — with one Magna Cum Laude and 8 Cum Laude — bringing the total number of alumni to 900 since the scholarship program started in 1998. Many of PGC-SP’s alumni are now licensed engineers, educators, certified public accountants, and corporate professionals, with 104 serving in various departments in the company.

120 graduates, each accompanied by a loved one, graced Pagkilala at Pasasalamat Para sa Ating mga Iskolar: the Palawan Group of Companies – Scholarship Program’s tribute and thanksgiving for this year’s graduates

Dubbed Pagkilala at Pasasalamat Para sa Ating mga Iskolar, the day was thoughtfully planned to honor not only their achievements but also the determination and hard work that allowed them to beat the odds, leading them to this important milestone.

The gathering served as a meaningful occasion to recognize the graduates and their families, while reaffirming the Palawan Group’s continuing commitment to empowering Filipino communities through education.

For the Palawan Group of Companies, investing in education goes beyond providing financial assistance but an investment in the country’s future. In his speech, Palawan Group Chairman and Founder Bobby L. Castro remarked: “Education creates opportunities, transforms lives, and uplifts communities. I truly believe that every scholar we support is a key to a better future for the Philippines.” He added, our company actively takes part in nation-building, and we believe education is one of the most powerful ways to make a meaningful impact. He also emphasized how every scholar is a key to a better future for the Philippines.

The Palawan Group of Companies Scholarship Program (PGC-SP) remains the company’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, reflecting its commitment to creating lasting and positive change in the lives of Filipinos.

Through the years, the scholarship program has enabled deserving students to pursue higher education and realize their dreams despite financial challenges. Beyond supporting academic pursuits, the initiative seeks to nurture future leaders and responsible citizens who can contribute to national progress.

The Thanksgiving celebration highlighted stories of perseverance and success among the graduates, whose journeys stand as reminders that with determination and support, education can transform lives and open doors to greater possibilities.

In her heartfelt address, Palawan Group Deputy Chairman and co-founder Angelita M. Castro expressed deep joy for this chapter in the lives of the scholars, while reminding them to continue being responsible and children to their parents. She expressed, “I was tasked to deliver an inspirational message, but really, you are our inspiration. Armed with the dream of giving your family better lives, you persevered, you reached the finish line. I ask that you continue to love your families and continue to do better for them. As you enter the next season of your lives, as you grow to become professionals, be kind, do what is right, and stay grounded in malasakit.”

Deputy Chairman and Co-Founder, as well as the brains and heart behind the scholarship program Angelita M. Castro appealed to the graduates to remain kind, do what is right, and stay grounded in malasakit.

As the Palawan Group continues to grow and serve millions of Filipinos, it vows to remain steadfast in extending opportunities that uplift communities and empower the next generation.

As a proudly Filipino-owned enterprise, the Palawan Group believes that nation-building begins by investing in people; and one of the most meaningful investments that can be made is education.
