Lady’s Choice brought the spirit of Nutrition Month to Upper Bicutan Elementary School in Taguig last July 29, 2026, with a day dedicated to nutrition education, family involvement, and the importance of building healthy habits among Filipino children.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Sama-sama, Paaralan at Pamilya, sa Nutrisyon at Sigla,” the celebration highlighted the collective role of families, schools, and communities in helping children grow into healthy, active, and confident learners. Through engaging nutrition talks, interactive activities, and a hands-on sandwich-making workshop, students were encouraged to see healthy eating not simply as a lesson, but as a practical part of their everyday lives.
“Our theme today that we’re celebrating, ‘Sama-sama, Paaralan at Pamilya, sa Nutrisyon at Sigla,’ reminds us that every child’s health and success are built on the shared commitment of the family, the school, and the community. Together, we can nurture learners who are healthy, active, and ready to achieve their fullest potential,” shared Dr. Elinda Butcon, Principal of Upper Bicutan Elementary School.
The celebration also emphasized that children’s nutrition is a shared responsibility. Parents and teachers joined the students throughout the event, reinforcing the importance of having a strong support system both at home and in school when it comes to developing healthier food choices and habits.
“We’re so happy to see not only our kids here today, pati na rin ang mga nanay at teachers who play such an important role in their everyday lives. Because when it comes to proper nutrition, hindi lang ito trabaho ng isang tao. It takes all of us, parents, teachers, and partners like Lady’s Choice, LGU, and DepEd, to work together to help our children grow, learn, and thrive,” said Mia Gomez, Condiments Brand Lead of Unilever Foods Philippines.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the hands-on sandwich-making workshop, which allowed students to actively apply what they learned about making better food choices. By turning nutrition education into an interactive and enjoyable experience, the activity showed children that preparing and enjoying food can be both fun and an opportunity to make mindful choices.
More than a Nutrition Month activity, the celebration served as a reminder that healthier habits begin with simple choices and become stronger when supported by the people around us. Through meaningful community initiatives, Lady’s Choice continues to encourage Filipino families to make everyday moments count in nurturing healthier, happier, and more active children.
Every healthy choice shapes a stronger body and a brighter mind. By bringing nutrition education closer to children, families, and schools, Lady’s Choice hopes to inspire habits that extend beyond the celebration and become part of everyday family life.
