Fans and supporters of TV and movies once again got to see their fellow countrymen share the spotlight with Hollywood stars at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2018. As always, Twitter kept fans up-to-date on #whatshappening with the winners and slime victims at the most fun awards night. @KCANominees aired online at 10 AM PHT today on the Nickelodeon stream site where Filipinos stuck to Twitter to cheer for their #FavPinoyNewbie. There were close to 6 million Tweets related to the Filipino-centric category from the start of the voting period (26 February) until today. Local celebrities Joshua Garcia (@iamjoshuagarcia), Loisa Andalio (@iamAndalioLoisa), Inigo Pascual (@ImPascualInigo), and Gabbi Garcia (@_gabbigarcia) were nominated under the new #FavPinoyNewbie category.

Fans showered their bets with support by DIY Tweets, attaching the name of their favorite Pinoy newbie to the official hashtags #KCA and #FavPinoyNewbie from February 26 to March 24, 2018. Loisa Andalio (@iamAndalioLoisa) emerged as this year’s #FavPinoyNewbie, leading ahead of fellow Pinoy celebrities with the support of her followers from the Philippines and abroad.

Loisa expressed her gratitude to the fans on Twitter who voted as soon as she got word of her new award.

“Maraming salamat sa lahat support & effort! Lord, maraming salamat sa lahat ng biyaya. First award na nakuha ko. Di ko ineexpect. Para to sainyo ipagpatuloy nyo pagiging strong & mabuti nyo, mahal na mahal ko kayo! Kung wala kayo, wala sakin to ngayon at wala ako dito.”
