- Rita Daniela and Ken Chan will soon star in the primetime series One of the Baes
- They admitted they feel nervous about portraying their new roles
- They are also set to make a digital series
RitKen fans are now anticipating the comeback series of Rita Daniela and Ken Chan on GMA Network’s Telebabad.
Following the success of the top-rating series My Special Tatay, Rita and Ken are set to top bill the series One of the Baes.
They will be joined by Tonton Gutierrez, Amy Austria, Edgar Allan Guzman, Kenneth Medrano of That’s My Bae, and Roderick Paulate.
Rita will portray the role of an aspiring seafarer named Jowalyn and Ken will breathe life to Grant, an environmental vlogger.
Since the storyline of One of the Baes is influenced by the marine industry, the tandem expects that they will have some action scenes.
But the two admitted that they felt nervous about portraying their new roles.
“Yes, isa ‘yun sa mga nakakakaba, especially kay Rita, kasi ‘yung story namin it’s about marine industry, malaki ang pagkakahalintulad ng marine sa military,” Ken explained during the storycon of the series last July 17.
“So,’yun ang kailangan naming paghandaan, especially si Rita, kasi ‘yun ‘yung magiging story niya rito nasa marine industry at maraming physical activities na mangyayari,” he added.

“Habang napapanood po nila ‘yung show pumapayat po kaming dalawa,”Rita joked.
She shared that being physically fit is a requirement for their roles.
“Hinihingi po ‘yan ng aming characters, kailangan maging physically fit, ‘yun ‘yung isa sa pressure para sa amin.”
While Ken revealed he is challenged by his new character.
“Napi-pressure rin ako sa character ko dahil sosyal at mayaman, medyo dun naman ako nahihirapan. Pero mapagmahal naman siya.”
The airing date of the series has yet to be revealed.
Apart from this, Rita and Ken are also doing a digital series but details were not yet divulged.
Rita started at the young age of 10 when she became the grand winner of QTV’s Pop Star Kids in 2005. She was relegated to playing villain and supporting roles on TV soaps like Impostora and Villa Quintana while she continued singing the theme songs of some GMA soap operas and also recorded her own compositions, like “Di Lang Ikaw”.
She also did theater and shone as the leading lady in the hit musical based on the songs of the Apo Hiking Society, Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!
Ken was a former host of the late-night show, Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman. He also appeared in several shows of GMA Network in the span of one year.
Ken was part of the love triangle between Barbie Forteza and Joshua Dionisio’s tandem in Tween Hearts and portrayed a villain in Time Of My Life. A breakthrough in his career happened when he played Yuan Lee in Meant To Be and Joshua Lazaro, a doctor in The Cure.
