The Department of Health (DOH) has confirmed the first case of Coronavirus in the Philippines a few hours ago, and celebrities expressed dismay and demanded a ban on flights from China.

For instance, a Xiamen Air flight from China just landed in Davao with more than 50 Chinese nationals from Quanzhou, China.

To date, there are more than 6,000 people globally who have been infected and almost 100 people have died in China due to Coronavirus.

The first case of Coronavirus in the Philippines has made Filipinos start panicking and hoping that President Rodrigo Duterte will soon ban flights from China.

However, due to diplomatic relations, PH officials couldn’t decide whether or not to ban flights from China.

I'm sorry but I blamed Duterte and the Government for this mess. If you banned China earlier this wouldn't happen, you put the Philippines in risk how could you. And to DOH stop acting like it's fine because it's not. This coronavirus nCov is deadly.#coronavirus#coronavirusPH pic.twitter.com/Y8lrrhaEqd

how can you not discriminate against them?! alam na ngang may epidemic, nagtravel pa. manghahawa pa . mga bwiset

They'll rather get Filipinos sick than offend China. Damn the mentality.

Solenn stated that banning flights from China should have been the first action to protect our people when the outbreak came out.

Khalil Ramos

Ban the freaking flights.

The 68-year-old musician strongly suggests that for as long as there is Coronavirus, banning flights from mainland China here in the Philippines serves as a safety precaution.

Kiray Celis

Sana rin, magpatigil na kayo ng mga flight galing china.. or kahit na anong galing sa bansa nila. HINDI LANG BASTA SAKIT O UBO TO. BUHAY NATIN ANG PINAGUUSAPAN DITO.

The same goes for Kiray, who suggests that banning the flights from China is not being racist but to protect the lives of fellow Filipinos.

Gretchen Ho

After the eruption of Taal Volcano, Gretchen prays everyone to be safe against the Coronavirus.

Dawn Chang

Former Girl Trends member Dawn Chang would like to remind everyone to prioritize Filipino’s health rather than taking risks just because of power and money that China can provide to our country.

Can we think about the masses health and safety more than power and money please?
