Actress-host Toni Gonzaga shared her opinion on celebrities who declined her guesting invitation for her YouTube talk show Toni Talks.
Toni Talks is a YouTube talk show where Toni would interview celebrity guests which would often shed new light on the image of the artist. Netizens would find her show inspiring as they would admire her wisdom and the pieces of advice that she gives to her guests.
In an interview with Philstar, Toni shared that she’s happy that her YouTube show which started from a three-man team, slowly grew and improved.
She then admitted that not all the celebrities that she invited to be on her show would accept the invitation.
“Nakakatuwa kasi nag-go-grow na siya, nakaka-earn na kami ng mga ‘yes’ from the guests. Of course, it’s a humbling experience for me because I personally ask the guests kung pwede sila to sit down with me.
“Some will say no and some will say yes. And then, ang cue ko nga lagi if nag-yes, maybe it’s God’s will. ‘Pag hindi naman, it’s not time siguro,” she said.
She explained that she is already used to rejections as she had experienced this herself many times during her auditions back in the days.
“In life naman talaga (may nag-no-no). But that’s the beauty of it, sanay na ako sa ‘No!’ nung bata ako (laughs). All the auditions that I attended as a child gave me ‘No.’ So, it’s no longer personal for me and also, it’s not yet the right time,” Toni said.
The actress-host did not reveal the artists who rejected her invitations but it can be noted it will be their loss since Toni’s YouTube show is known to garner millions of views on YouTube.
Some of the notable interviews she had on her show are with Candy Pangilinan, Ivana Alawi, Joy Mendoza, Baron Geisler, Vicky Belo, and many others.
Currently, Toni’s YouTube channel already has more than 3 million subscribers with 126 million accumulated views.
Toni is known for her calm and collected personality which made her one of the most respected personalities in the industry. She recently celebrated her 20th anniversary in the showbiz industry.
She previously admitted that her move to the Kapamilya network received backlash from the people who said that she became ambitious.
“Unang lipat ko sa ABS, kaya ako emotional, kasi I got so many comments and statements na, ‘Malalaos na ‘yan. Hindi pa man din sisikat, malalaos na ‘yan. Ambisyosa siya,’” she said.
