Cai Cortez recounts tight safety precautions of ‘Sing-Galing’

On October 1, actress-comedienne Cai Cortez recalled the tight safety precautions implemented by TV5’s Sing-Galing.

During her exclusive interview alongside Kira Balinger with RAWR Nation, Cortez detailed the safety protocols implemented in the Videoke game show.

“Actually, pagpasok pa lang. The night before pa lang, they really clarified na isang tao lang ang pwedeng pumasok, na bawal ka magdala ng kasama, ng plus one. And if ever man, ako I brought my driver, sa kotse lang talaga siya kasi he was not swabbed.

“So bale ang pwede lang pumasok sa studio, and sa stand by area are people that were swabbed. That was very clear.

And also during the duration of the shoot, kaming artista, hindi pwedeng mag-mask eh, kasi masisira ‘yung make-up, and of course ‘you face the camera, kailangan kita ‘yung face.”

She added that the staff of the show showed her respect by wearing their masks.

“I really respect all the people that were there. Because they showed me respect by [them] not removing their mask kung hindi kailangan. Everyone was keeping a safe distance away from each other. So, I really felt safe, and hindi ako nagduda sa protocol nila infairness.”

As for her overall experience with Sing-Galing, Cortez said she enjoyed her guesting in the TV5 show.

“Hindi rin po ako singer, more so sumali sa singing contest. Parang saan mundo nanggaling ‘yun. But because Sing-Galing is so fun, hindi naman siya driven by technique or ‘your singing voice talaga, it’s really about having fun, hanging out. Magkaroon ka ng vibes na parang nasa karaoke-han ka lang with your friends. And, ‘yun talaga ‘yung naexperience namin.

“At the end of the day, hindi ako masyado na-stress by performing as much kasi nag-enjoy ako. With sina Kira and sila Herlene. And the hosts, the hosts were so fun. They were so welcoming, sila Tito Randy [Santiago] and si K [Brosas], the judges and si Donita [Nose].”

Cortez’s episode with Balinger in Sing-Galing airs on October 2, Saturday at 6 pm. Sing-Galing is TV5’s revamped Videoke game show which first aired in 2006. It is hosted by Randy Santiago and K Brosas with Donita Nose.
