“Ito po ang first time at ito na po ang last time siguro,” said Janno Gibbs on Wednesday, November 10, after being asked how was it working with his ex, actress Manilyn Reynes, and wife Bing Loyzaga.
According to Gibbs, Mang Jose will be the last project that the three of them will work on since he received “hate” from the two.
“Eh kasi kapag magkasama ang dalawa sa set, si Bing at tsaka si Manilyn, puro ako ang pinag-uusapan nila at nilalait nila eh.”
But it was all good between him and Reynes, as well as his wife, pointing that the two were comfortable with each other.
“No. We’re all good friends, kaming tatlo. Proof to that is p’wede ko silang iwanan sa tent nang magkasama. Hindi ko lang alam kung nag-aaway sila sa loob ng tent.”
The actor also revealed that he personally requested Reynes and Loyzaga to be in Mang Jose as he believes it is time to work on a project.
“Actually, I requested Manilyn for this role. It’s a different role for her. Spoiler alert, s’ya po ang pinaka-main villain ni Mang Jose.
“Ako rin ang nag-request for Bing. I really wanted the three of us together kasi hindi pa nga nagagawa. And I think it’s high time before bago kami tumanda nang tuluyan eh magkasama-sama naman kami sa isang movie.”
Gibbs and Reynes were a former love team during the 80s until the 90s and has played roles in the movies Super Inday and the Golden Bibe, Petrang Kabayo at ang Pilyang Kuting, and Me and Ninja Liit.
The two also worked together in Magic To Love (1989), Feel na Feel (1990), Kung Sino Pa Ang Minahal (1991), Luv Ko Si Ma’am (1991), and Ober Da Bakod 2: Di Treasure Adventure (1996).
Mang Jose is directed by Rayn F. Brizuela and was featured at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea last July.
The superhero movie of Vivamax will be available for streaming on December 24 but can be watched via pay-per-view on November 17.
