Rita Avila claps back at netizens who call her a “boldstar”

On January 25, actress Rita Avila clapped back at netizens who refer to her as a bold star to attack her online.

On facebook, Avila shared her thoughts about presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.’s interview with Boy Abunda and then expressed her excitement about Vice President Leni Robredo’s turn.

Following her post, several facebook users started digging up Avila’s past career, with some referencing Avila as a “bold” star.

She responded by recalling her early career as an actress and clarifying the roles she used to portray.

Baka d pa buhay itong mga ito nung time ko nung mga ST Movies kaya di nila alam how far did the “ST Queens” went on pagbo-bold.

Puro naka 2-pc. Bare back shots. Leg shots.

She then noted that people would only understand and respect what actors do behind the camera once they become actors themselves.

Avila added that she wouldn’t belittle sexy stars who know what they’re doing and sex workers who are simply trying to make a living.

She then left a question for readers to ponder on, in which would people would respect a kind sex worker or a mean teacher.

“Kanya kanyang prinsipyo yan eh. Nasa kalooban.

Rita Avila was part of the in-house talents of Seiko films when they started in 1984.

The film company was known for its “ST” *short for Sex Trip) movies in the ’90s, with Avila starring in some of their projects, such as Stella Magtanggol and Nang Gabing Mamulat si Eba.

Avila may have had a sexy image when she started her career in showbiz. However, she remains one of the most respected actresses of her generation today.

She has been actively voicing her opinions about the upcoming 2022 elections.
