The 20-year-old Janine Berdin sent 26-year-old DJ Loonyo on a social media rant, Wednesday, July 13 over a harmless meme.
Earlier on Tuesday, Berdin’s Facebook cover photo was changed to a petition requesting that the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) be changed to DJ Loonyo International Airport.
The post also had a caption, “DJ Loonyo is the only hero (hawak bayag) who holds the crotch dance step.”
It sent netizens laughing over the said meme, but Loonyo did not like being laughed at.
In a post, the social media personality shared screenshots of the conversation between him and the singer.
The singer was surprised that Loonyo took it seriously.
She did not make the meme, but stumbled upon it online and found it to be funny.
“Hala Kuya, Hello po! It’s really just a meme that I found super funny. I found it online. I didn’t really mean any harm,” explained Berdin.
“Ano po kaya context ng meme? 🙂 I just thought it meant to change the name of the airport to you.”
She was just “poking fun” and it was “super random” that she changed her cover photo into Loonyo’s meme.
Berdin further stated, “Really didn’t mean any harm! I don’t think people found it degrading to you as well po! But if you want, I could always take it down Kuya!”
Loonyo did not show his reply but in the post he added a caption that says, “Nakakatakot ‘yung utak ng mga gantong tao. ‘Pag kayo ginanyan, ISSUE, HEADLINE AND BASH AGAD. Katuwaan? Tapos bina-bash and pinagtitripan ‘yung taong involved?”
Tagging the singer, he ended with a reminder stating, “You’re better than that for sure. God bless your soul. Weird shit.”
Back on June 30, Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. filed a bill that aims to change the name of NAIA to Ferdinand E. Marcos International Airport.
“It is more appropriate to rename it to the person who has contributed to the idea and execution of the said noble project,” explained Teves Jr.
The airport was originally named Manila International Airport just before former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., was assassinated at the airport’s tarmac on August 21, 1983, resulting in a series of protests, eventually leading to former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Sr’s exile to Hawaii in 1986.
In the meantime, Berdin has yet to respond to Loonyo’s sentiment.
