In the virtual media launch for the upcoming TV5 sitcom Oh My Korona, actress Maja Salvador on Wednesday, August 3, “prayed” for a better entertainment industry now that network wars are getting obsolete.

“Siguro dream ng buong artist iyan, ng mga artista. Kasi mas magandang nagtutulungan, inaangat ang bawat isa, and isa lang naman ang goal nating mga artista, mga producers. Parang ang mission natin is to entertain, to give happiness, to give stories sa ating mga audience, sa ating mga supporters,” said Salvador.

The actress expressed her excitement as an era of rivalry between networks seems to see its ending.

“So exciting times ahead kung talagang wala ng network wars, and ipagpe-pray talaga natin iyan para payapa. May K sa lahat, may love. Because love is ‘yun ang kailangan natin.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, TV stations began to collaborate to bring entertainment to the public. In the Philippines, ABS-CBN first collaborated with A2Z after its unfortunate closure in May 2020.

The Kapamilya Network then explored various options to bring Filipinos their programs. Aside from expanding its digital reach, a partnership [with TV5] got forged to have the shows become available to a much-wider audience.

Earlier in April, GMA Network and ABS-CBN, the two network giants in the country, sealed a deal to have some of Star Cinema’s content to be available on the Kapuso Network.

Meanwhile, Salvador’s sitcom Oh My Korona also includes Joey Marquez, RK Bagatsing, Kakai Bautista, Pooh, Christine Samson, Jai Agpangan, Queenay Mercado, Guel Espina, Jessie Salvador, and Thou Reyes.

The show will have its pilot episode on Saturday, August 6, at 7:30 p.m.
