Katips lead actor-director-producer Atty. Vince Tañada cannot hide his astonishment after former Vice President Leni Robredo endorses his film Katips.
In a Facebook post on August 8, Tanada exclaimed “Wow” as he shared the Philippine Stagers Foundation’s FB post containing Robredo’s video message endorsing Katips the Movie.
“Wow! Look: Atty. Leni Robredo on #KatipsTheMovie huwag ng papahuli pa! Nood na!”
Another Katips star and FAMAS Best Supporting Actor, Johnrey Rivas, shared Robredo’s video message with the caption “
#Katips.”
Katips started screening in cinemas on August 3.
Meanwhile, Robredo, in her message, congratulated the whole production of Katips for the wonderful work of art.
Atty. Leni said the film evokes a valuable and timely message during this time when history is being twisted and fake news is being passed around as the truth.
“Hello sa lahat ng bumubuo ng Katips. Congratulations sa inyo for this wonderful piece,” bungad ni Atty. Leni na nakasuot ng pink attire.
“Mahalaga ang mensaheng dala ng inyong pelikula, lalo na sa panahong pilit na binabago at inililihis ang kasaysayan, at marami sa ating mga kababayan ang napapaniwala sa mga kasinungalingan. You are yet another proof that art is integral in the way we shape the world. Patuloy lang sa paglikha! Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat!”
Katips gained attention after winning a majority of the awards at the 70th FAMAS Awards, including Best Film, Best Director and Best Actor for Vince Tanada, and Best Supporting Actor for John Rey Rivas.
Aside from FAMAS, Katips has also been named Best Movie at the Singapore Movie Festival.
