Athlete-turned-actor Ricci Rivero’s post earlier today on social media, is seemingly a response to the netizens’ allegations that he cheated on Kapamilya actress, Andrea Brillantes.
The celebrity athlete has practically admitted he and Andrea Brillantes already broke up, via a tweet he made this morning, June 9.
The night before, a screenshot of Ricci Rivero’s reposting of former beauty queen (now a Los Baños councilor), Leren Mae Bautista’s IG story, went viral. It fueled speculations that the star athlete was cheating on Brillantes.

“I own up to the mistake of not making my relationship status public because I felt there’s no need to add up to what were going through. Please respect our decision to keep it to ourselves so that we can preserve whats left of our friendship. I hope let’s stop creating your own versions and dragging other characters into these false accusations,” reads his lengthy tweet, which many netizens, especially Brillantes’ fans, immediately took as an admission of guilt.

Rivero asked for understanding from the fans, and begged to allow them move forward and heal. “I am sorry for whatever disappoinment it may have caused you – for everyone’s peace of mind, please allow ourselves to heal and move on peacefully without hate and pain,” he added.
In April last year, Rivero made headlines, when he publicly asked Brillantes to be his girlfriend, during a UAAP game. The Kapamilya actress seemingly returned the favor, when she publicly asked Rivero to be her date at the Star Magic Prom 2023.
Brillantes is yet to make her own statement in response to Rivero’s post.
