On August 1, actor Carlo Aquino voiced when it was time to let go of a relationship.

At the media event for ‘Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko,’ which LionhearTV covered, Aquino highlighted the value of peace of mind and mental health for a relationship.

“Marami akong ibibigay, tsaka marami rin ako nasukuan. Di joke lang.

“Hindi ‘yun nga, ‘yung sinabi ni Coleen, ‘yung peace of mind, ‘yung stress, mental health, importante ‘yan. Kapag feeling mo wala na ‘yung balance mo, wala nang–kung naaapektuhan na ‘yung trabaho mo and everything or kapag sinukuan ka na rin, ganon kailangan mo nang– oo ganon.”

He then admitted that he had given up on some people and various opportunities.

“Yes po mayroon na po akong sinukuan. Hindi necessarily tao, pero mayroong tao, trabaho, basta marami na po akong sinukuan.”

He also emphasized the value of self-love before getting into a relationship.

“Siguro walang tama or maling pagmamahal, pero ang pinaka-importanteng tao sa buhay mo ay ‘yung sarili mo. Kaya ‘yun ang dapat mo mahalin.”

As for his character in the series, Aquino pointed to the relatability of his role to Filipinos, especially breadwinners.

“Very relatable ‘yung character ko kasi, family oriented, breadwinner, alam naman natin na maraming Filipino na naggaganon tapos minamanage ‘yung time niya sa family, sa work, and then sa love life.”

The upcoming Viva One series came from the best-selling novel by Marcelo Santos III.

‘Kung Di Lang Tayo Sumuko’ stars Carlo Aquino, Coleen Garcia, Ponce, Escaño, Ryza Cenon, and Kiko Estrada.

Under the direction of Carlo Enciso Catu, the romantic drama streams via Viva One starting August 21.
