Actor Richard Gutierrez expressed his desire to work again with former leading lady Angel Locsin, who has remained inactive in showbiz since 2022.
In a recent episode of ‘Stars on Stars’ by Jeepney TV, Gutierrez was asked by his girlfriend Barbie Imperial which among his past leading ladies he would like to collaborate with again.
“Siguro si Angel Locsin,” Gutierrez said.
“We’re all waiting for her comeback. Sana ‘pag nag-comeback si Angel, makagawa kami ng isang project,” he added.
Gutierrez and Locsin were among the most popular on-screen pairs in the early 2000s, known as the ‘ChardGel’ loveteam. They starred in hit series such as ‘Mulawin’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’, which dominated television ratings during their run.
Their pairing eventually ended after Locsin transferred to another network in 2007, though they reunited years later in ‘La Luna Sangre’ in 2017.
Imperial, for her part, supported Gutierrez’s answer, noting the enduring popularity of the tandem.
“Actually, pati kami ni Neil Arce. Kami na ang managers ninyo,” she joked.
Gutierrez responded with optimism about a possible reunion.
“Sana one day God will,” he said.
Despite years away from the spotlight, Locsin remains one of the most anticipated actresses for a comeback, with fans and colleagues alike expressing hope to see her return to television or film.
