When it’s not broke, don’t fix it, as the saying goes.
Airing on a new timeslot did not deter “Banana Sundae” as it debuted with a National TV Rating of 14.4% last Sunday (November 15) according to data from Kantar Media.

14.4% rating on a “Banana Sundae” pilot episode is already strong for Sunday afternoon timeslot but, it’s rival show “Wowowin” got 14.9% ratings. “Banana Sundae” still needs to work harder at least to give their rival show a more challenging competition.
The show did not deviate from its usual format featuring segments that loyal viewers of the seven-year old gag show came to love like Kantaranta, Baby Boy and Baby Girl, and Make Me Rap.
Making their pilot episode more special was the return of Pokwang and the addition of Jessy Mendiola to the gag family. Both women had their moments with Jessy displaying her comic side, which the audience will surely loved.
Aside from that, the gang also dedicated the entire Make Me Rap segment to Angelica Panganiban’s birthday celebration. She is the only remaining cast member from the original Banana Split girls and said, choking back tears, that she does not want to see her Banana family go.
The “Banana Sundae” cast has been making people laugh during their late night forays, most notably with mainstays Angelica Panganiban’s and Jason Gainza’s segments Krissy TV and Ihaw na. The other cast members of the show include John Prats, Ryan Bang, Sunshine Garcia, Aiko Climaco, JC De Vera, Pooh, Jobert Austria, and Badji Mortiz.
This week, don’t miss out on the fun as the gang offers up a serving of Kantaranta, Banana Drama, Face the Question, and Song Gags where comedians Jayson Gainza and Jobert face off with seasoned singers Edgar Allan Guzman and Nyoy Volante.
Helming “Banana Sundae” is director Bobot Mortiz with Linggit Tan-Marasigan serving as the executive in charge of production with Rocky Ubana as executive producer, Willy Cuevas as creative manager and Roderick Victoria as head writer.
“Banana Sundae” airs on Sundays right after “ASAP20.” Other weekend comedy shows of the Kapamilya network include “Goin’ Bulilits,” and “Home Sweetie Home.”
