During a Senate public order committee hearing on September 5, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II was caught sending a message to a VACC member, saying there is a need to ‘expedite’ the cases against Senator Risa Hontiveros.
The lady senator presented the photo during her privilege speech on September 11. According to her, a member of the media “inadvertently captured a text message exchange on the screen of the phone of Aguirre” and she had the photo verified with the experts and determined that it was authentic.
Words seen in the photo when zoomed in: “Naturuan na ni Hontiveros ang testigo. Her questions are leading questions.”
Sec. Aguirre about to reply: “Yon nga sinasabi ko dito. Very obvious. Kaya nga expedite natin ang cases niyo vs her.”
GMA News reacts to a joke
A netizen posted a joke about the DOJ Secretary, “Im sorry but the old Aguirre can’t come to the phone right now. Dahil fini-figure out pa niya kung paano liitan ang font size ng telepono.”
This joke captured one of GMA News admins on Twitter and replied, “LMAO”
Obviously it’s for a personal Twitter account. Upon knowing that it was shared via GMA News Twitter account with more than five million followers, GMA News immediately deleted the said comment but some netizens were able to capture a screenshot and post it online, and are getting mixed reactions from the netizens.
