In an interview with PEP.ph, Kapamilya actress Coleen Garcia talked about the decision of her boyfriend Billy Crawford on shifting in a new management. The 25-year old “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” star said that Billy wants to focus on singing and performing, which he became known for internationally.
“I think he misses the performer in him. Kasi ngayon, he’s very focused when it comes to hosting,” she said.
Last January 16, Billy signed a five-year contract with Viva Artists’ Agency and Viva Entertainment, Inc. Prior to this career move, the 35-year-old “It’s Showtime” had been a talent of Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talents Circuit since 2007, the year he moved back to the Philippines.
Coleen expressed her support for the hosting career of Billy for the past years in showbiz.
“So, right now, he’s getting better at it [hosting] as well. And I’m very proud of him because he’s accomplished many things in the past two years being a solo host na hindi niya nagawa before,” she stated.
According to Coleen, Billy is still growing as an artist despite being in showbiz for almost 30 years now.
“So you know, at least at his age and 30 years in the business, he’s still growing, and I’m just so proud of him that he’s still growing until now. Masaya naman ako he’s making good decisions in his life,” she explained.
Coleen divulged that before Billy deciding to sign up with Viva, he sought Coleen’s opinion first.
“He doesn’t make a decision without consulting me first, and the same goes for me. Not because we hold each other back, but because we decide what’s best for the other person based on how we feel,” she expounded.
“With him, everything went through me naman also. So he asked for my opinion first, he asked for advice, and I think that this is really a good, big step for him,” she ended.
