- Alwyn Uytingco comes back for another beki role in ‘It’s UnPair!’

CBN Asia features actor Alwyn Uytingco in its newest Holy Week special entitled, It’s UnPair! Alwyn will portray the role of Dexter in this comedy love story showing on Maundy Thursday, March 29, 5:30 p.m. at GMA.
Tanikala presents It’s UnPair! is CBN Asia’s much awaited Holy Week special about a gay and hunched back woman who learned that love always triumphs no matter who you are and how you look like.
Actor Alwyn Uytingco portrays the lead role, Dexter. When asked about his thoughts on the role, Alwyn shared, “I haven’t played a gay role for quite a long time so I had to think about whether to accept a beki role again.”
Alwyn Uytingco started out as a child star. Aside from acting in successful teleseryes and movies, he was also in TV series like Beki Boxer and Jasmine.
“Since I was 14 years old, I’ve been portraying gay roles and so far, I learned to understand how they think, how they feel, what they want, and what their dreams are,” Alwyn said.
But despite his past gay portrayals, Alwyn expressed how his role in It’s UnPair! became one of a kind.
“The story is so beautiful. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of this kind of project,” he shared.
Knowing that It’s Unpair! is based on a true–to–life love story made the actor even more excited to do it.
“The story is so inspiring. I am really so happy because for the first time, I will portray a gay role with this angle,” Alwyn said.
Along with Alwyn in the TV special is Facebook sensation Kat ‘Tassel Girl’ Galang as Rose and Max Lopez as Boying. It’s UnPair! is a holy week special of CBN Asia directed by Xandrino Mangunay and Neil Barnes. Watch it on Maundy Thursday, March 29, 5:30 p.m. at GMA.
