  • Digitally restored “Cinema Classics” in Trinoma and Greenbelt cinemas this week
  • Head out to Glorietta and Trinoma to watch these digitally restored and remastered films from Wednesday (April 18) to Tuesday (April 24).

ABS-CBN’s Film Restoration Project, in partnership with Ayala Cinemas, exhibit some of the country’s most well-loved classic films in “Cinema Classics” this April 18 to 24 in Trinoma and Greenbelt.

The weeklong restored film exhibition formally opened last Wednesday (April 18) via the premiere of the 1992 hit drama film “Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal” that was attended by its lead star Maricel Soriano.

Aside from “Ikaw Pa Lang Ang Minahal,” “Cinema Classics” will also feature two other Richard Gomez movies namely “Hihintayin Kita Sa Langit” and “ Kapag Langit Ang Humatol.”

Other films to be screened include Mike de Leon’s “Kakabakaba Ka Ba” and Rory Quintos’ “Sa Aking Mga Kamay,” Joyce Bernal’s “Don’t Give Up On Us,” Danny Zialcita’s “Langis at Tubig,” Ruel Bayani’s “One More Try,” Carlos Siguion Reyna’s “Ligaya ang Itawag Mo Sa Akin,” and Olivia Lamasan’s “The Mistress” can also be watched in ‘Cinema Classics.”

“Cinema Classics” is part of ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project’s advocacy dubbed as “Sagip Pelikula,” which aims to preserve Philippine cinematic legacy by locally restoring classic Filipino films and make it available to the general public via different platforms.

Head out to Glorietta and Trinoma to watch these digitally restored and remastered films from Wednesday (April 18) to Tuesday (April 24). Tickets cost P220, with a discounted rate of P180 for students. For the full schedule, visit www.facebook.com/filmrestorationabscbn on Facebook.

Since 2011, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has been restoring classic films to help preserve Philippine cinematic history. Together with Central Digital Lab, it has become the first restoration effort to be done within the country.

To date, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has already restored over 120 films, some of which were already screened internationally via film fests, screened locally via red carpet premieres, aired on free-to-air and cable television, viewed via pay-per-view and video-on-demand, distributed on DVD, and downloadable even on iTunes.
