Network leadership in 2018 was still a split between the two largest TV stations in the country; ABS-CBN and GMA Network.

At the start of 2019, the rival networks both claimed leadership in terms of ratings for the past year.

ABS-CBN which uses Kantar Media Research reported 45% ratings for 2018, 7% higher than GMA Network’s 32%.

The Kapamilya network also shared its winnings in the geographic segments with Total Visayas claiming the lead at 53% vs GMA Network’s 26%.

Total Mindanao followed at 52% against 28% ratings and Total Luzon with 40% vs 35% ratings.

Metro and Mega Manila on the other hand, were also winning segments for ABS-CBN as it registered 42% vs 26% and 36% vs 34% ratings respectively.

Meanwhile, using AGB Nielsen report, GMA Network also claimed leadership for 2018 with 40.8% ratings, 3.3% higher than archrival ABS-CBN with 37.5%.

And just like ABS-CBN, the Kapuso network also boasted on its lead in geographic areas.

GMA Network dominated Mega Manila gathered 47.7% compared to ABS-CBN’s 28.7%. Urban Luzon also went to the Kapuso network at 45.95 vs 31.5%.

Meanwhile, using month over month data collected by LionhearTV, ABS-CBN won biggest in November based on Kantar Media. ABS-CBN scored 14% higher than GMA Network at 45% vs 30%. Its lowest on the other hand was registered in July and September where it scored 11% higher than Kapuso network at 44% vs 33%.

ABS-CBN is led by its primetime programming block where FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano continues to reign.

GMA Network meanwhile registered its best ratings in February with 43.6% vs ABS-CBN’s 37.9% or a margin of 5.7% based on AGB Nielsen report.

The weakest for the Kapuso were April and November but it managed to overtake Kapamilya by only 1.1% at 39.7% vs 38.6% and 38.6% vs 37.5% respectively.

GMA Network’s ratings success was buoyed by its top rating magazine show Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho.
