- Coleen Garcia has been under the management of Star Magic for seven years
- She decided to sign up a contract under Viva Artist Agency
- She clarified that she signed up under a different management, but ABS-CBN remains as her home network
Coleen Garcia clarified that despite signing a contract with the Viva Artists Agency, she stays in her home network, ABS-CBN.
“When I walked in the office, ang bigat pero paglabas ko, ang gaan ng feeling. I didn’t expect them to be so understanding. Naintindihan din naman nila, especially now that I am married na I really have to decide for myself especially when it comes to work,” she explained.
When she decided to sign a management contract with the Viva Artist Agency, after staying with Star Magic for seven years, she said that her husband Billy Crawford was instrumental in her decision to move to Viva and join him.
“Actually hindi naman siya ‘yung deciding factor kung bakit ako lumipat pero he did give me advice at nakatulong din na nandito na nga siya. Marami siyang nakukuwento sa akin about his experiences working with Viva. He only really has good things to say. Nakatulong din sa pag-decide ko na lumipat dito,” she said.
Coleen stressed that her transfer was something that she thought of for a long time.
“It’s not something I just decided all of a sudden. It really took me such a long time to decide and I figured that with this new chapter in my life, I really just wanted a fresh start also. I wanted a new beginning,” she said.
Garcia said she also talked to Star Magic first before signing with Viva.
When she was asked if it means that she and Billy would work more together, she shared: “Na-try kasi naming [mag-work together] sa ‘MMK.’ Sobrang awkward talaga. Parang nahirapan kami sa isa’t isa. Ang weird. Kung titingnan namin ang isa’t isa as Billy and Coleen, madali pero as different characters, parang pareho kaming naninibago. Pero again, if the opportunity is there, why not? Depende rin talaga sa story.”
