It’s been more than a century, 125 years to be exact when the first bottle of Martell Cognac came to the Philippine shores in 1894, and on May 17, Friday at the Marina Bay Spa and Lifestyle Club–a new blend of aroma and sensation via its new brand called Perspective was introduced to the public.
Selected lifestyle media, simple dilettantes and expert connoisseurs were invited to a tasting experience and discover what Martell is known for its name–elegance, complexity and balance.
Martell Chanteloup Perspective is made from four of the most prestigious cognac crus and carefully blended by the Martell cellar master from up to 450 rare eaux de vie. For wine connoisseurs, via its smell, the four ingredients are plum, peach, cinnamon and wood are combined to create an aromatic and sensory balance of unique blend.
During the event, Martell’s born and raised French ambassador, who is now based in Malaysia, Jean Baptiste Gourvil gave a short talk about Martell. He guided his audience on how to distinguish Martell Chanteloup through the three senses–the sight, the smell and the taste.
In the market, Martell Chanteloup is an ultra prestige cognac and has limited stocks here in the Philippines. It is sold at a retail price of around Php22,000 per bottle.
