Jake Zyrus’ (formerly known as Charice Pempengco) ex-girlfriend, Alyssa Quijano, surprised viewers when she auditioned for Kapamilya’s newest talent show ‘Idol Philippines’ where she bravely shared her past relationship.
Her openness rocked the online world on Sunday evening, after she revealed her past to the judges.
“Marami akong na-sacrifice doon sa relationship namin kasi I stopped singing, nawala ‘yung Alyssa na kilala ko. I was just giving my all na parang nakalimutan ko na ‘yung sarili ko,” she shared.
Alyssa relayed that the said relationship taught her so much about life, “After the breakup, ‘yung medyo nakaka-move on na ako, I learned a lot from that relationship. Alam kong mahirap din ‘yung mga pinagdaanan niya and I believe na pareho kaming natuto sa mga pagkakamali namin.”
Alyssa is finishing her Medical Technology course and has returned to singing, “Ngayon, I am pursuing my dreams. I am becoming who I really am, kaya nga bumalik ako ng school and kumakanta ako ulit.”
She continued, “Now that I’ve shared my story for the first time, this is the time I am leaving my past behind me.”
Jake’s mom, Raquel Pempengco reacted to Alyssa’s statement and shared her sentiments on her Facebook account.
“Sana di na sinama pa ang publicity…if she wants to make it on top…avoid to use others…just saying…past is past…you can tell other story to avoid mentioning other person. Magaling ka i know. You can do it on top by your own name…”
