- Family History is GMA Pictures’ return to the big screen
- Michael V. is a first time director in Family History
Kapuso celebrities were in full force at the premiere night of Michael V.’s big-screen debut as a director at SM Megamall last July 23. Aside from the Family History cast, some of the celebrities who joined the red carpet premiere were Kyline Alcantara, Barbie Forteza with Jak Roberto, showbiz couple Dingdong and Jessa Saragoza-Avanzado, Diana Zubiri, and Alden Richards.
Some were expecting the appearance of celebrity couple Ogie and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid but the two were nowhere to be found.
On Twitter, Ogie congratulated his kumpare for his new movie. He also mentioned that he just got back from London, the reason why he was not at the red carpet premiere.
“Congrats to my pareng @michaelbitoygma and the entire production and cast of #FamilyHistory for the rave reviews and success of the film. I was not able to attend as I just arrived from London but heard and read all the rave reviews!! God bless you!!”

Ogie also appeared during last night’s block screening for the movie arranged by the cast of Bubble Gang.
As comedians, Ogie and Bitoy rose to fame as a tandem in the sketch comedy show Tropang Trumpo in 1994 before moving to GMA Network’s Bubble Gang. Bitoy remained with GMA Network while Ogie transferred to ABS-CBN last year.
