88rising and Johnnie Walker announce a virtual Lunar New Year Celebration

Music and Spirits Collide with an Exclusive Livestream Concert & Limited Edition Cocktail Kits.

International music collective, 88rising, and iconic Scotch Whisky brand, Johnnie Walker, have collaborated for the ultimate Lunar New Year celebration.

The two global brands have created a signature highball cocktail kit featuring limited-edition co-branded merchandise that is available via Cocktail Courier to enjoy for a livestream concert on February 13th to celebrate pushing boundaries in the Year of the Ox.

On February 13th at 6 PM PST / 9pm EST, viewers are invited to ring in the Lunar New Year on 88rising’s YouTube channel for exclusive, intimate performances by soulful Asian artists Yeek, Jay Som and Ginger Root. The event will be hosted by 88rising Radio host SOSUPERSAM and will feature music by Filipino-American songwriter Yeek who just released new single “3000 Miles (Baby Baby)”, dreamy pop singer-songwriter Jay Som and “aggressive elevator soul” artist Ginger Root. A festive cocktail segment with mixologist A-K Hada will also be featured throughout the concert so viewers can mix up a signature highball cocktail at home.

The stream will also support Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC, an organization dedicated to advancing the civil and human rights for Asian Americans, and to building and promoting a fair and equitable society for all.

The 88rising and Johnnie Walker co-branded Cocktail Courier kit features ingredients for the Gold Moon Highball including Johnnie Walker Black Label, Lapsang Souchong Syrup and clementine soda, which is a nod to the New Year for a touch of good luck. Each Lunar New Year Cocktail Courier kit also includes a limited-edition 88Rising x Johnnie Walker crewneck sweatshirt, dropping just in time for the holiday.
