On the latest ASAP Natin ‘To, Kapamilya stars–Kim Chiu and Joshua Garcia teased each other about their exes Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto, who are currently rumored to be in a relationship.
In one of the show’s segments, Chiu and Garcia exchanged spiels with Enchong Dee. Kim then suddenly bantered, which seems to be welcoming Barretto that shocked Garcia.
“Live via Zoom, please welcome… Jjjj… just kidding!”
In response, Joshua also teased by welcoming Kim’s ex-boyfriend, Gerald.
“Kala mo siya lang may surprise, meron din tayo.
“Please welcome, Mr. Ge… Just kidding!” he jested.
She did not expect his banter and said, “Happy ka? Basta happy ka, Joshua, okay ako dun. Na-happy ka?”
The hosts laughed together and Kim reiterated, “Basta happy si Joshua okay na ‘yon.”
Kim grilled ‘ang nagpaubaya’ Joshua.
Joshua had to answer what made him pursue the project. He replied that his friendships with Moira, Jason (Moira’s husband), and Julia helped him decide to accept it.
He also admitted that he already thought that Paubaya fits their love story the first time Dela Torre pitched it to them.
“Seryoso, totoo ‘yon. Si Moi yung nag-ask sa akin, e. Sabi niya, ‘Okay ka ba to do this ‘Paubaya’?’
“E, napakinggan ko yung ‘Paubaya’, ‘tapos sabi ko, ‘Ang ganda nito, a. Parang saktong-sakto dun masyado sa amin!'” he confessed.
Joshua also confirmed that they (he and Julia) co-wrote their script for the said MV.
“May script siya, ‘yon yung guide. Kami ang gumawa—ako si Moi, si Kuya Jason, at si Jul.
“Kami gumawa apat. May script siya, siyempre. May guide kung saan hanggang saan lang kayo.
“Pero yung sasabihin as an actor, kung saan ka kumportable, siyempre kung saan mo mararamdaman,” he shared.
Kim then asked Joshua why did he say ‘sorry’ in one of his lines. However, Joshua tried to change the topic to evade the question.
Chiu repeated the question, but Joshua still refused to answer it.
The music video of singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre‘s Paubaya trended online as it featured the ex-couple Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia. Many assumed that the said MV was their ‘much-needed closure’ after the JoshLia break-up in 2019.
Garcia, however, considered the project as their reunion (JoshLia tandem) after their latest work with Dela Torre and Hernandez via Love You to the Stars and Back, where Moira sang the official soundtrack (OST) Torete.
Thus, the young actor got thrilled before the shooting of the MV.
“Ka-message ko nga si Kuya Jason before the shoot.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Bro, sigurado ako, exciting itong mangyayari.’ Kasi parang doon na lang ulit kami nagsama-sama ulit after.”
Kim and Joshua’s banter entertained the fans.
Fans laughed at how Kim introduced Joshua like the ‘nagpaubaya’ (the one who chose to let go) and how she grilled him with the controversial question.
