Actress Bea Alonzo, herself confirmed that the much-anticipated film reunion with John Lloyd Cruz is pushing through this year.
“He’s back, he’s back,” Bea exclaimed with delight as she announced the return of her long-time onscreen partner John Lloyd Cruz after taking a hiatus from show business.
In a March 11 one-on-one interview with comedienne-singer Ethel Booba, Bea can’t hide her excitement after revealing that she already read the script for their upcoming reunion film.
“Excited ako. Kakabasa ko lang kagabi, totoo lang ng script. Kinikilig ako!” shared Bea.
“Pero wala pa siyang ending. Pero super nakakaiyak tsaka nakakakilig. Excited ako.”
The two multi-awarded actors will reunite in the film No Goodbyes, set for this year under the award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
Bea and John Lloyd co-starred in other films directed by Garcia-Molina. Close To You (2006), One More Chance (2007), Miss You Like Crazy (2010), and A Second Chance (2015) were among them and were box-office hits.
Their famous roles as Basha and Popoy in One More Chance launched them to fame.
Moreover, the sequel to their film One More Chance, A Second Chance, was the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time in 2015. It was also the final film in which the Bea-John Lloyd loveteam appeared.
Their other films included My First Romance (2003), Now That I Have You (2004), All About Love (2006), and The Mistress (2012).
Meanwhile, the two are working on separate projects before their reunion movie.
Alonzo with Kapuso actor Alden Richards will start filming for their movie A Moment to Remember at the end of March or April of this year. The film is a Philippine adaptation of the 2001 Japanese drama Pure Soul.
Bea and Alden will be playing the role of a married couple facing the struggles of early- onset of Alzheimer’s disease. This is the first time that Bea and Alden will work as partners.
John Lloyd Cruz, on the other hand, was recently seen in a lock-in taping in Sorsogon with director Lav Diaz for the film Servando Magdamag.
It tells a story of a family of hacienderos after their patriarch dies.
The filming of the forthcoming ABS-CBN and Black Sheep film directed by Lav Diaz and written by Ricky Lee began in December 2019.
Years ago, it was reported that the said film will be John Lloyd’s comeback project.
Moreover, John Lloyd reunites with his then-girlfriend Shaina Magdayao in the film after they separated in 2012.
