Charo Santos reacts to ‘ASAP Natin ‘To’ performers’ lip-sync fails, reveals her keen-eye for ABS-CBN programs

“Do you take yourself for granted and say ‘I am good’, No! You keep working and working and working, don’t be hard to make sure that you’re the excellent person in the one performance that you’re gonna show me now!” she said with her iconic expression.

On Toni Gonzaga‘s latest vlog titled, The One Thing Ma’am Charo Did Right--it revealed how Charo Santos-Concio is too keen on critiquing ABS-CBN programs and talents.

Chief Content Officer and President of ABS-CBN University Santos-Concio reminded celebrities to keep working on improving their strengths.

“Do you take yourself for granted and say ‘I am good’, No! You keep working and working and working, don’t be hard to make sure that you’re the excellent person in the one performance that you’re gonna show me now!” she said with her iconic expression.

Toni then shared the pressure of performers backstage when they are informed that Miss Charo is watching.

She tracked-back a scenario when ASAP Natin ‘To staff reminded them to ensure that their lip-sync performances are synchronized.

“Ayaw ni Ma’am Charo, magli-lip sync nalang sa ASAP hindi pa sasabay. Hindi ko makakalimutan yun Ma’am Charo!

“‘Huy, pag nagli-lip-sync kayo sa ASAP, sabayan niyo yung boses niyo dahil yun nalang ang gagawin niyo. Si Ma’am Charo nagagalit yan hindi kayo sumasabay sa lip-sync,” Toni said while Charo laughed at the background.

Santos then revealed how she monitors their programs to ensure that she can give the right feedback to the team.

“Pag may live show, nakatext na ako, nung wala pang cellphone, landline,” she shared.

“Direcho agad ang feedback,” Toni replied.

“Hanggang Araneta Coliseum ang nagcoconcert, may feedback kaagad, opening palang,” she said and they both laughed.

“Nararamdaman po namin yun Ma’am Charo, kasi yung mga business unit head po, ‘Nanonood si Ma’am Charo’, so alam na po namin yun,” Toni shared.

Santos-Concio also makes sure to take down notes when critiquing programs of the Network.

She also revealed her strict leadership style as an ABS-CBN executive.

“Did this talent rehearse? ‘Ah Ma’am, medyo nagkaproblema, dumating two hours before the show’, then you should’ve asked her not to join the production number,” she shared.

She also said that performers should think that every performance may be their last so, they must give their all.

“You need this mindset Toni, ‘this could be the last performance of my life’. So you always need to give your best,” she stressed.

Santos-Concio then shared that the most fulfilling part as a leader is seeing ABS-CBN talents, improving, and evolving as performers.
