GRAMMY nominated and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Hunter Hayes has unveiled his latest slice of euphoric pop music “If You Change Your Mind” taken from his upcoming album, Red Sky (Part II). Following the success of his lead single “The One That Got Away,” this contagious, neon-lit track sees the chart topper continuing to expand his boundaries, exploring new sonic directions.
If You Change Your Mind” made its global premiere as yesterday’s “World First” on Apple Music’s The Zane Lowe Show. Following the exclusive worldwide premiere, the new single is available now on all platforms with a new video set to premiere on Thursday. Directed by Bia Jurema (Rebecca Black, MARINA) the music video is a Fitzgerald fantasy, inspired by Gatsby-esque themes of love and superficiality.
About the track, Hunter says “I wanted a song on the album that represented missing someone so much that you forget everything bad and only remember the good. You find yourself in a dream-like state imagining what could happen if it went the way you always dreamed it would.”
Proficient at more than thirty instruments, Hunter has garnered over two billion on-demand global streams since the release of his double-platinum certified debut album ‘Encore’, along with six gold and platinum certified singles. This year will see Hunter release his 5th studio album ‘Red Sky (Part II)’, with his second single ‘If You Change Your Mind’ out today.
To date, Hunter has accumulated over 50 award nominations and wins, counting five GRAMMY® nominations, a People’s Choice Award and a CMA Award. Among his growing list of accolades, Hunter’s genre-bending nature and fluidity has led to him collaborating and touring with a diverse group of artists that include, among others; Taylor Swift, Jason Mraz, Ryan Tedder and Carrie Underwood, as well as counting Elton John as a fan.
