Kapuso love team Rita Daniela and Ken Chan, popularly known as RitKen, during their teleserye’s Ang Dalawang Ikaw virtual media press conference, shares their reaction toward Kapamilya stars who are starting to invade the Kapuso Network.
But instead of getting worried that they may be outshined by these talented artists, Rita and Ken were excited rather than concerned.
“Syempre excitement. Wala naman na fo-foreseen na mangyayari ‘to dahil sa pandemic. Hindi rin sila threat eh,” the female star responded.
Rita admitted that the excitement she felt was because finally, she has a chance to work with these artists whom she only sees on television.
“Kasi ako honestly eh pinapanuod ko lang sila sa TV bago pa man ako nakapasok sa GMA. Kaya kung magkakaron ako ng pagkakataon, I will be very, very excited to work with kahit isa sa kanila,” she added.
Meanwhile, her onscreen partner, Ken, welcomed the former Kapamilya stars, who joined their growing Kapuso family.
“Wine-welcome namin yung thought and ‘yung silang lahat as an inspiration.”
Ken was “inspired” since most of the former ABS-CBN talents were from GMA Network. Just like Albert Martinez, who before becoming a Kapamilya, was a Kapuso. He recently returned to the Network after the pandemic hit and the Network lost its franchise.
“Inspirasyon talaga because ito ‘yung mga artista na karamihan nanggaling din sa GMA before bago sila napunta sa kabilang istasyon,” he added.
Furthermore, Chan was glad to see that the people he idolizes are now Kapuso. Thus, he never felt threatened by their presence since joining GMA Network.
“At nakakatuwa lang na yung pinapanuod mo, yung iniidolo mo, eh makakasama mo dito sa GMA-7. Ang sarap lang sa pakiramdam na parami kami ng parami. Hindi siya threat eh. Never namin naramdaman yung threat,” he ascertained.
Recently, John Lloyd Cruz, Beauty Gonzales, and Pokwang joined the Kapuso Network. Hashtag member Luke Conde also signed a contract with GMA Network.
The blockbuster actor signed with WBR Productions and is set to do a sitcom with Kapuso star Andrea Torres.
Aside from Cruz, Gonzales and Pokwang already have their respective projects which are soon to be announced by the Kapuso Network.
Conde, on the other hand, is expected to appear in two Kapuso shows, including Status Pumapag-ibig Presents: Never Say Goodbye and Wish Ko Lang!.
Meanwhile, there are rumors that more and more Kapamilya talents are planning to make a switch. Piolo Pascual, EJ Falcon, Maja Salvador, and Bea Alonzo are said to have received offers from the Network.
RitKen does not know who will be transferring next but, if ever the rumors eventually come true, the love team is welcoming them with arms wide open.
“Actually wala akong alam kung sinong lilipat. Wala kaming alam kung sino pang lilipat. Kung meron man, winewelcome namin sila ng buong-buo dito sa GMA Network syempre,” Ken gladly said.
In the meantime, RitKen is having their advoca-serye (advocacy-series), Ang Dalawang Ikaw, to be aired soon on GMA Network. It tells the story of how a married couple’s (Rita Daniela and Ken Chan) relationship is being tested by the husband’s dissociative identity disorder.
