A yearly event for the 48g sister group, AKB48, JKT48, BNK48, MNL48, Team SH, SGO48, AKB48 Team TP, and CGM48, “AKB48 Group Asia Festival 2021 ONLINE” on June 27th, 2021, at the AKB48’s concert venue, Tokyo Dome City Hall collided across regions in Asia bringing together a total of 150 members for a prime event this 2021. With the theme of “Cultural Exchange” every idol group executed a powerful and jaw-dropping performances.
To kickoff the event, AKB48 open the event with their signature song “Aitakatta” at the Tokto Dome City Hall. On the background, members of JKT48, BNK48, MNL48, AKB48 Team SH, and CGM48 were projected. With a total number of 1100 guests at the Tokyo Dome City Hall (at 50% capacity limit for the prevention spread of Covid-19) and approximately 570,000 online viewers, Asia Festival 2021 was a huge success.

people who made this possible amidst this pandemic.” MNL48 Sheki stated.
MNL48 was thrilled to perform and showcase again their world-class talents across regions in Asia, a truly memorable and unique experience for MNL48 Lara and Abby.

“AKB48 group Asia festival 2021 Online was really a unique and awesome experience. It’s really different from the past Asia Festival Concert, but together with our sister group, we continue to showcase the best performances for everyone.” MNL48 Abby stated.
One of the uttermost highlight and unique performance of MNL48 is the beatbox acapella medley, lead by Beatbox Queen herself, MNL48 Lara. The viewers and audience were truly amazed by MNL48’s performance. According to the MNL48 members, the beatbox acapella medley was their favorite part of the event.
“My favorite moment was the acapella part because I was able to show my talent other than singing and dancing, which is beatboxing. It was an enjoyable moment To my fans, I am thankful to have you. I saw your tweets and messages about my performance that you were all proud of me. I am really happy that I made you guys so proud of me. Thank you for the love and support for me and MNL48. Keep on supporting us.” MNL48 Lara stated.
MNL48 Sheki was truly proud of their performance. According to Sheki, to hear their voices with different lyrics at the same time felt amazing and refreshing for them.

For the ending, all the members sang “365 Days of Paper Airplanes” again with the images of the overseas sister groups in the background. Another trademark of this event is the use of XR technology that adds color and excitement to the event.
All the members and fans are thrilled for the next Asia Festival, the venue for next year’s event will be Bangkok, Thailand.
MNL48 Abby, MNL48’s Center and MNL48 Sheki, MNL48’s Overall Captain were grateful for all the support and love they received from the fans and supporters of MNL48.
