Cardinal Santos Medical Center opens Sports Medicine Institute for athletes

Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) has launched its own Sports Medicine Institute designed to provide world-class clinical care to both professional and recreational athletes.

The inauguration of the Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) Sports Medicine Institute: The MVP Clinic was attended by (L-R) CSMC Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Zenaida Javier-Uy, CSMC President and CEO Raul C. Pagdanganan, Metro Pacific Investment Corp. (MPIC) Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan, and MPIC President and CEO Jose Ma. K. Lim.

Named “The MVP Clinic,” the CSMC Sports Medicine Institute is the country’s most comprehensive hospital-based facility for proper body conditioning, as well as treatment and prevention of sports-related injuries.

Equipped with the latest, most effective machines and led by a team of highly competent, board-certified Sports Medicine experts from Cardinal Santos, The MVP Clinic is the top-choice physical health partner for athletes and sports enthusiasts preparing to reach their full potential and best shape.

An intimate blessing was held to officially open the Cardinal Santos Medical Center Sports Medicine Institute: The MVP Clinic.

“Through this institute, we are committed to lead in the delivery of quality and expert medical care to sports-related injuries so that our beloved athletes are assured of world class clinical treatment without the need to seek the required services outside the country,” CSMC President and CEO Mr. Raul C. Pagdanganan said in his message during the inauguration.

The hospital named The MVP Clinic after Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC) Chairman and sports patron Manuel V. Pangilinan in recognition of his invaluable contribution to the development of sports in the country. The institute has also been dedicated to support Mr. Pangilinan’s vision of nurturing globally competitive Filipino champions.

Cardinal Santos Medical Center is a member of the Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc., the country’s largest private hospital group with a portfolio of 18 hospitals across the country.

Among the services offered by The MVP Clinic are cryotherapy, which helps relieve muscle and joint swelling after a grueling match or heavy training, and platelet-rich plasma, a procedure that follows the principle of stem cell therapy.

“Through the MVP Clinic, we have the experts to give the right diagnosis, we have programs for all conditions through individualized, patient-centered plan, and we aim to get you in the best possible shape, focusing on injury prevention. Through the MVP Clinic,

we will be a partner in developing world class Filipino sports champions,” CSMC Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Zenaida Javier-Uy said.
