The longest-running action-drama teleserye continues to make milestones as it keeps breaking concurrent viewership online.
With the action and drama continuing to get intense on FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, viewers are not just staying to follow the unfolding of events; they’re also increasing. Last Thursday, November 11, the show’s concurrent live viewers on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube, breached the 166,000th mark. It stayed above 165,000 on Friday, November 12.
The action-packed confrontations in the six-year-old program seem to keep its faithful audiences sticking with the show. The series maintains its position as among the most-watched TV programs in the country, despite its limited free TV reach. Online, the Coco Martin-starrer is the undisputed local drama, with live viewers that have been rising since it debuted on Kapamilya Online Live, last year. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is currently the only Filipino drama series whose concurrent viewership on YouTube reached 100,000. Other local programs that were so far able to achieve such feat are TV Patrol and Pinoy Big Brother.
This surge in viewership may be attributed to the increasingly intense developments on the show’s story. Cardo Dalisay (Martin) and his group, Agila, continue their escape from the combined forces of Renato Hipolito (John Arcilla), Lily Hidalgo (Lorna Tolentino), Art Padua (Tirso Cruz III), Lito Valmoria (Richard Gutierrez), and the elite police force, Black Ops, headed by P.Maj.Albert de Vela (Geoff Eigenmann). President Oscar Hidalgo (Rowell Santiago) and his loyal servants, Ambo (Nonong Ballinan) and Elizabeth (Whitney Tyson) continue their pursuit of Cardo, and they are getting closer.
Despite their wars and differences, Dalisay’s nemeses are consolidating their forces to bring him down. It’s a strategic move while they are carefully planning their advances to eliminate each other, in their quest for domination. Dalisay’s forces cross paths with Mara (Julia Montes) and her father, Armando (John Estrada), who are after a powerful kingpin, named Don Ignacio (Tommy Abuel). Their encounter seems to be the start of an alliance that may only strengthen Agila, and their bid to clear their names.
On Monday, November 15, the developing tension between Dalisay’s group and Mara’s group, pushed the show to break its record anew. For the first time, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano peaked at 170,000. This milestone comes ahead of the Megastar, Sharon Cuneta’s entry to the show, which marks the first time the showbiz royalty appears on a teleserye.
